December 2006 Swordsman 30 - Motor Boat of the Year Award

Swordsman 30 has been shortlisted in the Traditional and Retro Craft category of the Inaugural Motor Boat of the Year Awards 2007. Motor Boat & Yachting have combined forces with Motor Boats Monthly to make the selection from every boat they have tested and is currently on sale. The entrants will be judges on their capability and value for money.
The full shortlists will be published in the January editions of the magazines, with the winners announced at a dinner on January 8th and in the February editions.
September 2004 Swordsman 30 is launched!

The first Swordsman 30 went in the water on Tuesday 7th September, and immediately sped off to do speed trials (well in excess of 30 knots) and to have her picture taken.
All who were there to see the moment of boat touching water for the first time were unanimous in how pretty she looked. A smaller, daintier sister to the Swordsman 37 and 40, but with all the joys at sea given by her deep-v planing. The first boat is fitted with a jet drive, which means that she turns like a dream, and will not fear lobster pots!
Come and see her at berth 232 at the Southampton Boat Show!
March 2004 Motor Boat & Yachting test Swordsman 40

March 2004 Edition of Motor Boat & Yachting tested Swordsman 40, with a headline "Retro Active." The calm day was clearly a disappointment to the tester, as he twice mentions the promise of excellent heavy weather handling provided by the true deep-vee shape of the hull! "It is the sort of boat that you could comfortably cruise in at high speed over long distances", he continues. The overall craftsmanship is praised, along with access to under bunk storage and the "unmatched privacy of its aft-cabin layout". And the conclusion mentions the fact that "yachties feel a kinship with this type of powerboat"!
In addition, a letter published in the March edition of Practical Boat Owner, from a Swordsman 40 owner based in Jersey refers to "classic head-turning looks", and goes on to say that "it is a magnificent sea boat with deep V hull and a massive flare in the bows, so she's incredibly dry."
December 2003Navy Blue Hulled Swordsman 37 at London Boat Show

The London Boat Show runs from 8th to 18th January 2004 and will be in its new and exciting home of Excel in Docklands. The majority of powerboats are in the South Hall, but since our agents also sell the excellent range of Hallberg Rassy sailing boats, Swordsman will be found in the North Hall. Since it has been said by some that Swordsman is more at home with sailing boats than with some of the modern powerboats, the positioning may be rather apt!
A stunning looking Swordsman 37 will be exhibited at the show, this time in a different livery - navy blue hull and "milk white" superstructure - and can be found on stand N1695. Come and see her for yourself!

Full details, including how you can obtain your very own copy of the calendar that has been likened to the Pirelli calendars of the 1960s, can be found on www.yottietottie.com . The calendars are being sold in aid of the charity Breast Cancer Care.
August 2003Swordsman 40 Boat Review in Classic Boat magazine

The August edition of the much respected Classic Boat magazine incorporated a new feature – boat reviews, and the first to be tested was the Swordsman 40. On a wet and windy day early in May 5 boats braved the elements.
The Swordsman 40 was accompanied by a Swordsman 37 Aft Cabin , a Swordsman 37 Aft cockpit and two original Swordsman 33s.
The team from Classic Boat seemed to enjoy themselves, and the article fully reflects the fun they had as well as the respect they have for the boats.
A reprint of the article is available upon request.
August 2003Seven Swordsmen join Fowey Fairey Owners Club Rally

The Commodore of the Fairey Owners' Club held his Rally this year at Fowey, and a total of 23 boats were expected from all over the south coast and the Channel Islands.
In the event, only 15 boats were able to make it for a number of reasons, but all 7 “new” Swordsmen that had booked in arrived.
A dinner for over 100 people was hosted by the Royal Fowey Yacht Club, and a number of boats stayed on for the joyous insanity that is Fowey Regatta Week.
January 2003The Princess Royal Visits Swordsman Marine

The team of Swordsman Marine and Transworld Yachts were deeply honoured to be visited by HRH The Princess Royal at the London International Boat Show in January 2003.
The Princess is a keen sailor herself, and yet clearly appreciates the qualities of the Swordsman – “a very good sea boat” she was heard to comment!
This was the only stand she visited where she came on board a boat.
